For the last few years, I have wondered when the MAGA folks think America was great. After all, to be great again, there has to be a referenced time where it was great before. I ran several options through, but still couldn’t quite figure it out.
However, after the last weeks, I think I know.
It’s the 1920s!
Bare with me, I can explain.

1. After WWI, there was s heavy push towards isolationism. The USA shouldn’t be involved in Europe and Asia.
Sound familiar? America first. Leave NATO.
2. There was a push to run the country like a business?
Where have we heard this before?
3. Tarriffs. We had tarriffs in the 1920s.
4. Immigration restrictions. Only the “good” immigrants were allowed to enter.
Who said history repeats itself? He/She was very smart.
5. It was before the Civil Rights movement, so we didn’t have to worry about things like (gasp) diversity and inclusion. And let’s not forget (whispers) equity.
6. OK, women did get the right to vote in the 1920s, but they still had no control over their own bodies or finances. Roe v Wade wasn’t until 1973, they couldn’t purchase a house until 1974 and let’s not even think about the Me Too movement.
Don’t take my word for it. It’s all a part of the history books. I do suggest you look fast before they complete the whitewashing. Remember, that practice was a favorite of Hitler’s regime. If my theory is right, that’s knocking on our door right now.
Oh, don’t forget, the politics of the 1920s were turned upside down by a depression followed closely by another world war that was triggered by petty dictators who tried to take over countries that didn’t belong to them.
History is repeating itself.
